Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Imia (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects the personal data of visitors and customers of imia.ge. We process personal data in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection (No. 3144, in force since 1 March 2024) and other applicable Georgian legislation.

Who we are (the data controller)

Imia is an air conditioning installation and repair service based in Batumi, Georgia. For the purposes of data protection law, Imia is the data controller responsible for your personal data — we decide why and how it is processed.

You can reach us about any privacy matter using the contact details at the end of this policy.

What data we collect

We only collect the data we genuinely need to answer your enquiry and carry out our work:

  • Contact details you give us — your name, phone number, email or WhatsApp — when you call, message or request a quote.
  • Service details you share, such as your address, the type of air conditioner and a description of the work or the fault.
  • Basic technical data your browser sends automatically when you visit imia.ge, such as your approximate IP address, device and browser type. This is standard web-server information.
  • We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Why we use your data and our legal basis

Under Georgian data protection law we must have a lawful basis for every use of your data. We rely on the following grounds:

  • To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and arrange an appointment — at your request and to take steps towards a contract.
  • To carry out the agreed work and keep a record of it — to perform our contract with you.
  • To meet our accounting, tax and other legal obligations — to comply with Georgian law.
  • To send you a service reminder or a marketing message — only with your prior consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Marketing and consent

Under the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection, we may send you advertising or marketing messages only if you have given your prior, explicit consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time — simply tell us and we will stop. We never share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where it is necessary:

  • With service providers who help us operate — for example our website host or the messaging platform (WhatsApp) — who may process the data only on our instructions.
  • With state authorities, courts or our professional advisers where the law requires it or to establish or defend a legal claim.
  • Where a provider is located outside Georgia, we transfer data only in line with the requirements of the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection for international data transfers.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data only for as long as we need it: for the time required to handle your enquiry and provide the service, and afterwards for the period required by Georgian tax and accounting law or to deal with a possible warranty claim or dispute. When the data is no longer needed, we delete it or render it anonymous.

How we protect your data

We apply reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Only people who need your data to do their job can access it.

Your rights

Under the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection, as a data subject you have the right to:

  • be told whether we process your data and to obtain a copy of it (access);
  • have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data deleted, blocked, or its processing stopped, where the law allows (erasure / blocking);
  • withdraw your consent at any time, after which we stop processing and delete the data within 10 working days unless another legal basis applies;
  • receive the data you gave us in a structured format, or ask us to pass it to another controller (portability);
  • object to the processing of your data for direct marketing at any time.

Exercising your rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We will respond within the time limit set by Georgian law and will not charge you for a routine request. We may need to confirm your identity first so that we do not disclose your data to anyone else.

Cookies and your browser

imia.ge is a simple, lightweight website. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The site may store a small amount of data in your browser only so that it works correctly — for example to remember your language. You can clear or block this at any time in your browser settings.

Complaints and the supervisory authority

If you believe we have handled your personal data unlawfully, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in Georgia:

Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia — personaldata.ge.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, together with the date it was last updated, is always published on this page.
